Millions of photos are uploaded every day, but the first image ever posted to the World Wide Web was of a band. In 1992, Tim Berners-Lee uploaded a photo of Les Horribles Cernettes, a group made up of CERN employees, to the new information system he had just invented: the World Wide Web.
That simple snapshot made the band a permanent part of internet history.
