Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham attacked by woman in California: report

Guitarist and vocalist Lindsey Buckingham was attacked by a woman when he showed up to an appointment in Santa Monica, Calif., according to a report.

NBC4 Investigates reports that when the former member of Fleetwood Mac entered the building, a woman threw an unknown substance at Buckingham before running away.

Law enforcement sources told the outlet that the woman had discovered the time and location of Buckingham’s appointment and waited for him there before he arrived.

The law enforcement source said the suspect is someone known to the 76-year-old Grammy winner, due to alleged previous run-ins.

No arrests were reported early Wednesday morning and Buckingham reportedly suffered no injuries.

“The Los Angeles Police Department’s Threat Management Unit is working with the Santa Monica Police Department to investigate this incident. To protect the integrity of the open and ongoing investigation, no further comment will be provided at this time,” an LAPD spokesperson said in a statement to Global News.

Global News has reached out Buckingham’s representatives for comment.

A few days before the incident, Buckingham posted an Instagram video sharing details of the upcoming Fleetwood Mac documentary.

“I’ve been working on a new solo album for the last couple of years, which is one song away from being finished. That’s certainly in the future for this coming year. Also, Fleetwood Mac’s working on a documentary for the last couple of years with Frank Marshall, who’s done many wonderful documentaries,” Buckingham said.
