Uncharted: Crime and Mayhem in the Music Industry, episode 59: Times when the rock'n'roll party went too far

Sex and drugs and rock’n’roll: those are the top reasons to get into the music business. I mean, who wouldn’t want to live in a world where there are no rules?

But this, of course, often ends badly. What do you expect when you give some extremely talented yet emotionally immature or fragile people loads of money and then leave them to their own devices?

There’s often no one to tell these young people “no.” In fact, any bad behaviour is often ignored or even encouraged. As long as the artist produces, the powers-that-be tend to turn a blind eye, even as the artist finds themselves in more and more stressful situations.

Without any adults in the room, tolerances are built up. Boundaries are tested. Boredom calls for more extreme measures. Substance abuse ticks up, and ever-increasing bad behaviour becomes the norm.

Things can get very, very weird very, very quickly, especially when it’s time to party and let loose.

This is Episode 59 of “Uncharted: Crime and Mayhem in the Music Business”…and here are 10 examples of when those parties went way too far.
