“The way that I write…I’m always discovering things,” says Boy Golden. “I write music first and then the melody and the lyrics. And lyrics are kind of my favourite part, but for me the context of them leads me to them.”
For Boy Golden, that creative process is his spiritual journey. One he invites listeners to take with him through his music.
“Is it weird having a spiritual journey sort of awakening through music?” asks host Drex. “Most people go through it in a private sense or maybe in a somewhat public sense but yours is—”
“-mine’s both,” Boy Golden interjects, with a bit of a smile.
In February, with the release of his new album Best of Our Possible Lives, Boy Golden promises to guide us deeper into that journey. Its lead single, “Suffer,” is out now and is currently the most-added track on Alt Radio.
If this is just the beginning, we may all need spiritual seatbelts.
