Ongoing History: Bono vs. the Sinatra family

U2’s Bono has always been a Frank Sinatra fan. I mean, we’re talking huge. His greatest dream was to have ol’ Blue Eyes record one of his songs. In fact, Bono went so far as to write a song for Frank called “Two Shots Happy and One Shot Sad.”

Bono cut a quick demo and sent it off.  Unfortunately, Frank died before he could get to the song, and Bono forgot all about it. But the song came back–and that made Bono furious. Nancy Sinatra, Frank’s daughter, took the demo (with Bono’s voice) and added her voice to the recording, creating a duet. She wanted to use it on an album saluting her musical legacy.

So much for Bono’s dream.
