Ongoing History Daily: A rare (and somewhat ghoulish) Nirvana collectible

How’s this for a rare collectible?  Legend has it that a Toronto man may have the last-ever autograph signed by Kurt Cobain. This guy just happened to be in Seattle on April 2, 1994, for–believe it or not–a funeral.

As he left the plane, he noticed Kurt on the sidewalk, who had just flown home after leaving that rehab facility in LA.  Kurt was asked to sign and date an autograph on the only thing this guy had handy, which was a copy of Mansfield Park, a novel by Jane Austen. He did, and that was that.

Oddly enough, even though it was April 2nd, Kurt dated the autograph as April 5th, which, from all accounts, is the day that he killed himself.  Coincidence?  You be the judge.
