Jordan Miller of The Beaches says that the night before the release of their new album, No Hard Feelings, she went on her phone, crafted a thank-you note, and posted it to Instagram. A minute later, the album dropped. Then, her phone lit up with congratulatory messages. She decided she’d snuggle up in bed and fall asleep, saving the outpour of excitement for the morning.
It’s a good thing, too. This is The Beaches’ third album, and they’ll need the rest as they plan to celebrate BIG. Jordan hints that the day after the album release, her bandmates “might” be a little hungover. “Last Girls at the Party,” she says, referencing the debut single off the album. “First girls at the party too!” she laughs.
The rest of the plans include celebrating with their partners, a two-hour record signing, and a meet-and-greet with new fans in Chicago. “That’s always really nice, you know, anytime you release something or at least for me, I’m not really on my phone that much…whether that’s like, performing to people and seeing people know the lyrics to our songs or, you know, having some one-on-one time with a fan and having them say how much our music has meant to them. That’s sort of the most gratifying part of the job.”
