“How you guys feelin’ about basketball?”
Back in 2019, Twenty One Pilots were in Toronto for their Bandito Tour. There were two dates scheduled, but when the Toronto Raptors made it to the NBA Finals, the venue canceled their show for the game. This made the interview question an obvious one for the band, but it’s all love.
“I’m actually rooting for the Raptors,” lead singer Tyler Joseph said. “So, no bad blood at all.”
What the band was focused on was making the best show experience for their fans – from performance to stage production.
“We’ve always put whatever we can back into the show,” Joseph says. “And I’m talking like financially even, where you get to a certain level where, you know, it’s expensive. Every light costs hundreds of dollars a week to rent, and we’ve got like hundreds of lights and tons of stuff. I’m proud to say that we think that the show is important enough to pour back into it. And so, we try to hold onto that philosophy as long as we can, until we are both broke.”
“So, tigers are the next step?”
Now, their new album Clancy is set for a September 5th, 2025 release, with a North American tour beginning September 18th.
Maybe this time: tigers.
