When it comes to creating music, Lights has a very clear vision for the headspace that she creates in. “I think as an artist it’s important to squarely place your brain outside of reality,” she says, “and video games create an avenue or a portal to just let your imagination go wild!”
Lights mentions being in Skyrim in the dungeons, playing WoW, and Zelda as games that have shown her how “beautiful and immersive” a creative space can be. These games help her reflect on how she is showing up in her own music space. “I like to pull back sometimes, ‘what am I offering with what I’m creating?’”
She is currently touring her latest album, A6, with dates from Vancouver to Niagara Falls from now until September 2025. In an Instagram post, she calls this album “a result of the full range of experiences that have made my life what it is this far.”
