There was a brief sliver of time during the waning days of Madchester where shoegaze had a moment. While the sound and approach never went away, its party was crashed by the rise of Britpop. Fortunately, bands like Ride released some excellent music during that brief window of opportunity. The group’s 1990 debut album, Nowhere, is still sounds as good today as it did 35 years ago. And, of course, lead guitarist Andy Bell was and will soon again be a member of Oasis.
