Now that we’re into September, it’s time to evaluate what was the Song of the Summer of 2024, the track that will forevermore be associated with the last four months. I’m not going to weigh in here, but I can tell you that Spotify and its big data division The Echo Nest once studied more than 150 summer songs and came up with a mathematical formula that they say describes the perfect summer tune.
That formula is T + (E x 1.48) + (D x 1.17) + (A x 0.17 ) + (V x 1.14) = SH, where T = Tempo, E = Energy, D = Dancebility, A = Acousticness and V = Valence.
