The Fixx were one of the edgier bands to come out of the New Wave era, thanks to the spikey guitar playing of Jamie West-Oram. Their biggest moments came in 1982 and 1983 with a debut album entitled Shuttered Room. At like so many other bands living during a particularly dangerous era of the Cold War, they wrote this song about the impending and inevitable nuclear holocaust. The early 80s were fun, weren’t they?
This is the original 1982 version. It was re-recorded several times over the years.
The HQ version might sound more familiar to your ears.
