Here are a few facts about Eddie Vedder you can use to impress your friends.
(1) He never finished high school. By the time he got to grade 12, he was living on his own and was having a very hard time balancing school with work—and he needed to work to pay the bills. He had no choice but to drop out. He later got his high school equivalent while he was working as a waiter.
(2) When he lived in San Diego, he played in a variety of bands. One was called Indian Style which featured a drummer named Brad Wilk. He’d later go on to play in Rage Against the Machine.
(3) On his very first day in Seattle, he sang on the song “Hunger Strike” for the Temple of the Dog album. Chris Cornell, the writer of the song, rewarded Eddie by showing him places around town where he could get cheap beer.
And (4) Eddie has inducted three artists into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: The Doors, The Ramones, and REM.
